Tune in to the YouTube Premiere on June 11 to have questions about her Fastest Known Time (FKT) answered in real time
Ogden, UTAH (June 11, 2019) – In 2018, Salomon athlete Emelie Forsberg returned to her homeland in the Swedish Lapland to attempt a Fastest Known Time (FKT) on the Kungsleden Trail. The iconic, 280-mile trail boasts spectacular wilderness and views, and typically takes hikers 15 days to complete. Forsberg completed the trail in four days and 21 hours, besting the previous FKT that has held since 2017. To celebrate her achievement, Salomon TV will premiere a 14-minute episode, Kungsleden, which chronicles Forsberg’s adventure, on June 11.
“When I started planning this route, I looked at the distance, the hut system and the plan we made. I thought it was possible, but knew it would be a big challenge,” Forsberg said. “To achieve the record and to now share the experience with others through the Salomon TV episode is really exciting. I hope people will join the YouTube premiere and that I can answer some of their questions.”
The YouTube premiere will take place at 6 p.m. CET on June 11 and will give Forsberg the opportunity to watch alongside fans and answer their questions in real-time on Salomon’s YouTube channel.
Emelie Forsberg, an accomplished trail runner, ski mountaineer and outdoor athlete, has won numerous top trail races around the world. She has also established Fastest Known Times on a number of high alpine trails, including the Grand Teton in the United States, Mont Blanc in France and the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
Today, Forsberg is a new mother who lives on a former dairy farm in Norway where she grows her own product. Along with fellow Salomon trail running athletes Ida Nilsson and Mimmi Kotka, Forsberg now operates Moonvalley, a small company that makes and sells organic energy bars.
