OGDEN, Utah (October 20, 2016) — Suunto today announces the launch of a new refurbishment program that offers consumers lightly used and fully warrantied products from the Finnish brand’s award-winning Ambit3 and Traverse lines of GPS sports watches. Available for purchase online in the U.S. while supplies last, all refurbished watches are fitted with new componentry and tested to the same rigorous standards as Suunto’s brand-new product.
“Suunto’s handmade watches are designed with repair and life-long care in mind,” says Suunto Project Coordinator Erika Rautavaara. “Because we’ve always built our watches with long-term maintenance in mind, the execution of the refurbishment program is largely an extension of Suunto’s customer service platform. We stand behind our refurbished product just as we do any Suunto product, and we are able to deliver a great deal of value for customers on the search for a great watch at a great price.”
The lightly used, refurbished watches have been returned to Suunto for a variety of reasons. Suunto’s technicians in Helsinki have disassembled the watches, then renewed and tested componentry before reassembly. Every watch in Suunto’s refurbished collection has gone through quality assurance testing as though it were coming off the new-product assembly line, and is covered by a standard two-year warranty.
Designed for aspiring outdoor enthusiasts, the Suunto Traverse combines traditional outdoor functions with GPS/GLONASS navigation in a robust, modern construction. Detailed topographic maps make route planning simple, and FusedAlti™ functionality records accurate altitude, vertical speed and total ascent with barometric pressure and satellite data.
The flagship of the Ambit3 collection, the Ambit3 Peak is the watch for serious adventurers and athletes, boasting up to 200 hours of battery life and Suunto's hallmark outdoor functions such as route navigation, barometric information, altimeter with FusedAlti™, and 3D compass. Paired with Movescount, the Ambit3 Peak enables athletes to monitor detailed performance metrics, including cycling and running power; heart rate; and Peak Training Effect (PTE), which indicates the impact of a training session on an athlete’s maximum aerobic performance.
Beginning October 18, the Ambit3 Peak Black and Traverse Graphite watches are available for purchase inside the United States on suunto.com. Suunto is not offering an international refurbishment program at this time.
